The Password Page of the Silver Lake Newsletter (SLN) has finally outlived its usefulness. Blogger has introduced a new "Custom Readers" Private Blog which appears to be a useful instrument in meeting the needs of SLI residents when seeking Institute-specific information.
The SLN is also offering Blogger's email alternative, "Custom Email," whereby each new post in the "Custom Readers" Private Blog will be automatically emailed to those who prefer the email method over the private blog. This was decided on because the "Custom Readers" Private Blog is only available to folks who possess a Google-based email (@gmail.com) or who wish to get one.
The publisher's invitation to join the private blog contains a clickable button to obtain an @gmail.com email if that is what you want to do. Either way, you may still keep and use your current email and utilize your @gmail.com for the private blog.
The new "Custom Readers" Private Blog for SLI Residents utilizes a publisher-initiated invitation to join the private blog based on the eligibility standard of being an SLI resident. Because the SLN publisher does not have access to the list of residential emails, he is adding the additional step of having residents initiate a request for an invitation to join the private blog.
Any and all who make their permanent or temporary home on the grounds of the Silver Lake Institute, are invited to request an invitation to join the private blog where Trustee proposals, new information, issues and discussions will remain private. Residents may phone (493-4003), email (SLDN@mail.com), letter-write (POB 19), or fill-in the request form provided at the top of the left-hand column (remember to click "send").
For those who do not own (nor want) a Google Email Account, we are offering Blogger's automatic emailing of the new posts entered on the private blog. This enables the reader to get the latest in SLI information through their regular email account.
Because the SLN publisher does not have access to the list of residential emails, it is necessary to have residents initiate a request to be placed in the email database for the purpose of receiving SLI-specific news relative to life at the Institute. The request should contain your name, email address, and state that it is for "SLI Email News."
