NYJ: Eric Trump Ordered to Testify Before Election

Last week, Eric Trump’s lawyers said he was willing to be interviewed — but would only do so after the presidential election be-cause he did not want his deposition to be used “for political purposes.” But on Wednesday, a state judge in Manhattan, Arthur F. Engoron, ruled that Mr. Trump had to sit for a deposition no later than Oct. 7. Justice Engoron said he found Mr. Trump’s arguments that a delay was necessary “unpersuasive.” The attorney general, Letitia James, has been conducting a civil investigation into whether President Trump and the Trump Organiza-tion committed fraud by overstating assets to get loans and tax benefits.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 1933-2020, will spend Wednesday and Thursday at the Supreme Court Building and Friday at the Capitol Rotunda. "My fervent wish is that I not be replaced until a new president is installed," was her last message dictated to her granddaughter. The RBG Casket arrived at the Supreme Court at 9:29 am for the brief service in the S/C Building followed by placement on the outer portico for the public to pay respects and honor. Her "family" of former law clerks served as her pallbearers. She is on the Lincoln Catafalque in the Great Hall of the Supreme Court. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's Rabbi conducted the Service and that was followed by deeply meaningful words given by Chief Justice John Roberts.

Powerful Teddy Slams Atlantic Canada, NW US

September 23, 2020 — Just two days after a close encounter with Bermuda, Teddy pounded Atlantic Canada early Wednesday with driving rain and howling winds, and the potent storm will remain on a course through Nova Scotia and Newfoundland through Wednesday night. The storm, a former major hurricane, made landfall around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday local time in the Sheet Harbour area of Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore, according to the CBC. The storm's landfall came about two hours ahead of schedule due to an increase in forward speed.

Maine's Coast is Unscathed by Hurricane Teddy

SACO, Maine — Hurricane Teddy is passing to our east but created dangerous conditions along the coast. The big waves brought many people to Old Orchard Beach during high tide Tuesday afternoon. Officials have urged anyone who goes to see the surf to be very careful. Waves crashing onto streets and over rocks can easily sweep people off their feet. Minor flooding and some coastal erosion was expected from the storm. Teddy also created dangerous rip currents making going in the water potentially deadly. The storm will continue to create danger-ous conditions along the coast into Wednesday before it moves to the north, hitting Nova Scotia.

Houston inundated by Beta's flooding downpours

Excessive rainfall topped a foot in parts of Texas as the storm nearly stalled Tues-day morning, leaving scenes of flooded roadways and people stranded in high waters. Videos posted to social media show high water levels at multiple creek and bayous around southeastern Texas. Sergio Chapa, a reporter in the Houston area, posted a video to Twitter of flooding along Brays Bayou in southwestern Houston. Chapa reported that the Bayou jumped its banks Tuesday morning. Mean-while, in League City, Texas, about 26 miles south of Houston, city officials warned that the flooding could worsen.
